NLCA Spring Stunt Competition
Junior High and Senior High

Registration Requirements; Fee; $10 per category, Individual Permission Forms, School Permission Form, Master Registration Form, Category Entry Form
Registration Due Date; March 14th, 2009

Junior High Categories;

Level Two Stunt Group:

Consists of 5 athletes. The Group will have 1 minute in which to perform a series of stunts and transitions to music. All stunts / transitions must be consistent with NLCAs level 2 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the group must perform a single legged stunt at elevator level (lib, heel stretch etc...) Stunt sequences will not be judged on choreographed elements therefore including these are personal choice.

Level Three Stunt Group:

Consists of 5 athletes. The Group will have 1 minute in which to perform a series of stunts and transitions to music. All stunts / transitions must be consistent with NLCAs level 3 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the group must perform a cradle dismount, and a single legged stunt at elevator level (lib, heel stretch etc...) Stunt sequences will not be judged on choreographed elements therefore including these are personal choice.

Senior High Categories;

Level Three Stunt Group:

Consists of 5 athletes. The Group will have 1 minute in which to perform a series of stunts and transitions to music. All stunts / transitions must be consistent with NLCAs level 3 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the group must perform a cradle dismount, and a single legged stunt at elevator level (lib, heel stretch etc...) Stunt sequences will not be judged on choreographed elements therefore including these are personal choice.

Level Four Stunt Group:

Consists of 5 athletes. The group will have 1 minute in which to perform a series of stunts and transitions to music. All stunts / transitions must be consistent with NLCAs level 4 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the group must perform a single extension, and a cradle dismount reloaded to another stunt. Stunt sequences will not be judged on choreographed elements, therefore including these are personal choice.

Level Five Stunt Group:

Consists of 5 athletes. The group will have 1 minute in which to perform a series of stunts and transitions to music. All stunts / transitions must be consistent with NLCAs level 5 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the group must perform a single legged stunt at extension level (lib, heel stretch etc...) a 360 dismount from any stunt, and a basket toss. Stunt sequences will not be judged on choreographed elements, therefore including these are personal choice.

SYNERGY DANCE COMPETITION:

Any Group with dancers between the ages of 12 - 25

Registration Requirements: Fee; $50 per group, Individual Permission Forms, School/Dance Studio Permission Forms (if applicable), Master Registration Form, Category Entry Form
Registration Due Date: March 14th, 2009

Dance Groups must consist of a minimum of 6 performers, and may not exceed a maximum of 15 performers.

Groups may or may not be affiliated with a cheerleading team. Groups may be affiliated with any dance school, or performance group, however this is not a requirement.

Schools, Dance schools, and performance groups may enter multiple groups within different genres if desired, but performers may not cross over.

Groups will have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to perform a routine including skills applicable within their genre, formations, and transitions. Dance routines must be done entirely to music, and are encouraged to use multiple songs within their routine.

Groups must wear tasteful costumes applicable to the genre and style of their routine. Groups may use props, however must pre-approve these props with an executive member, no later than the registration due date.

Groups must wear either sneakers, jazz shoes, or bare feet for performing, and may not wear tap shoes, or Pointe shoes.

The Categories/Genres offered are the following;
Hip Hop
Pop/Jazz Modern/Contemporary/Lyrical

Stunt/Pairs Competition

Consists of 2 athletes. The Pair will have 1 minute in which to perform a combination of dance jump and gymnastic skills to music. All gymnastics skills must be consistent with NLCAs level 3 rules and regulations. At some point in the sequence, the pair must perform a synchronized double toe touch, and also a combination linking 3 or more jumps together. This combination may or may not include the double toe touch requirement. Pairs routines will be judged on choreography, execution, difficulty, and performance.

Individual Tumbling:

Consists of 1 athlete. The athlete will have 1 minute in which perform a combination of jump and gymnastics skills to music. All gymnastics skills must be consistent with NLCAs level 5 rules and regulations. At some point in the routine, the athlete must perform a back handspring. Individual routines will not be judged on choreography elements, therefore including these are personal choices.

Senior High Categories;
